Just heard from the BBC Breakfast News that Shire Hall is offering “Cash incentives” for communities to run their libraries. A £50k pot will be available. I wonder what they expect the community to do with it?
More libraries will now remain open for longer, In the Citizen, this has not been described as a U Turn, but a “part of the process”.
My underlying concern is that the conservative Councillors have repeatedly stressed that the finances were so finely balanced that we should not suggest changes unless we can find another place to cut, so what is going to be cut instead? What is being hidden now?
