Fat Club – First week in and 7lb gone

In a bid to become a leaner chap and inspired by my better half who joined the week before, I have joined the local Weight Watchers group.   I have just completed my first week in their plan and just had my first weigh in.  I am pleased (and relieved) to report that I have lost 7lb so hopefully starting in the way I mean to go on. 

It is a points based plan that means you track what you eat but also you get rewarded for doing more exercise, so I think it could lead to better habits.  I have a weigh in every Wednesday (in a group full of girls, not intimidating at all, honest), then the rest of the week I’m encouraged by Amanda and friends at work.  I thought it would be a lot harder than it has been, but then my number of points decrease as I get slimmer, so it is going to get much harder.

We will see how it goes, but it seems sensible so far, and I am already eating better, much more fruit and veg and still being able to have a drink so it seems more sustainable in terms of lifestyle change.

I have a bit of a mountain to climb (or lose if I’m lying down…) but hopefully started in the right way.

In the words of the group leader, I hope you will see a little less of me next week.
